How to Apply Online for Indian Coast Guard

All the candidates will be able to apply for the post online from 16 to 22 March 2020. Please follow the steps below to fill the form online:-

(A) Important Instructions need to follow

  • Candidate’s Name, Father/ Mother’s Name, and DOB should be the same as mentioned in the 10th Certificate.
  • Should have a valid Email id and Mobile number.
  • Put the exact percentage of marks obtained in Diploma up to 2 decimals (Don’t round off).
  • Choose only one Centre.

(B) Fill the Form Step by Step 

  • Candidates need to visit – www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in and click on the tab of opportunities.
  • Next, select the add for Yantrik 02/2020 Batch (Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering).
  • Now select the post you want to apply for.
  • After that, read the instructions displayed on the screen and click on “I Agree”.
  • You will see the online application on your screen. Fill the form very carefully.
  • Before the final submission of the form check all the details once again and then hit on the Submit Button.
  • A unique Application/ Registration number will be generated after the final submission of the application form.
  • Please keep a note of this Registration number to download the admit card in the future for the exam.

  3. Candidates getting a Rejection slip will not be able to sit in the examination.

Selection Process for Recruitment of Indian Coast Guard (Yantrik)

All the eligible and shortlisted candidates will be able to download the E-Admit Card from the official website. The selection for the application form will be based on a high percentage of marks obtained in a Diploma degree.

The complete procedure can be categorized into three phases.

(A) Written Examination

(B) Physical Fitness Test

(C) Medical Examination

(A) Written Examination

  • The written test will be of objective type.
  • The question papers would be designed as per the respective branches (Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics and Telecommunication) of the Applicants.
  • Questions from General Knowledge, Reasoning, Aptitude & English will also be included.
  • Candidates who will get qualified in the written paper have to undergo PFT and initial medical exam.

(B) Physical Fitness Test

Candidates passing the written exam will be able to appear in the Physical Fitness Test. All candidates must have proper Sport Shoe, T-Shirt, Trouser, etc. Qualifying PFT as per the standards given below is compulsory.

  • 1.6 km run in 7 minutes
  • 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
  • 10 Push-ups
  • Candidates who will qualify the PFT will undergo an initial recruitment medical examination.

(C) Medical Examination

As per the performance based on the written examination, aspirants will be shortlisted for the medical examination. Qualifying the initial medical exam does not mean that a candidate is selected for the post. Further, the selected candidates will be subjected to the final medicals examination at INS Chilka.

After there will be a preparation for the final list. Candidates who will qualify in all the tests will be selected depending upon the vacancies available. The list of the selected aspirants from all over India will be uploaded on the official website in June 2020.
